# LOST101 — Full Reference Source: https://888lost101.com Compiled: 2026-08-21 Contact: support@mail.888lost101.com This file is a plain-text version of the public LOST101 website, provided so that language models and AI search tools can read the service's content without executing JavaScript. It covers the marketing site, the safety page, the Terms of Use (version 1.3), and the Privacy Policy (last updated April 18, 2026). --- ## 1. What LOST101 is LOST101 is a personal phone relay service for people in the United States. You register once and add a small list of trusted contacts. If you later lose access to your own phone, you dial one toll-free number — **1-888-LOST-101**, which is **1-888-567-8101** — from any phone you can borrow: a stranger's mobile, a flip phone, a hotel or payphone landline. You verify your identity with the keypad or with your voice, pick a contact from your list, and LOST101 bridges the call. Neither side ever sees the other's phone number. Both the caller's and the recipient's call history show "LOST101". The tagline the site uses: *"The last phone number you'll ever memorize."* ### The problem it addresses 1. **The memory gap.** Most people have memorized one or two phone numbers at most. If that one person is unreachable, the safety net is gone. 2. **Hardware fails.** Dead batteries, shattered screens, water damage, and theft all cut you off instantly and without warning. 3. **Nobody answers.** Even a remembered number usually reaches a phone on silent. Contacts who save LOST101 in their address book can assign it a custom ringtone that bypasses silent mode — effectively a private, emergency-only alert for the people who matter. ### What LOST101 is NOT - It is **not a replacement for 911** or any emergency service. In a life-threatening situation, call 911 first. - It is **not a primary phone service** or a general calling plan. It is intended for occasional personal emergency use by adults. - It does **not work outside the United States**. Domestic U.S. calls only. - It does **not accept inbound calls**. Contacts cannot call you back through LOST101; only outbound relays are supported, deliberately, to prevent misuse. --- ## 2. How it works **Step 1 — Add your contacts.** Register with your phone number; no password is required. Add up to 20 trusted contacts, directly from your address book. **Step 2 — Contacts verify with a single tap.** Each contact receives a short, private text invitation and confirms their own number. As soon as the first contact accepts, your relay is live. You cannot dial arbitrary numbers — only contacts who have consented. **Step 3 — Dial 1-888-LOST-101.** Borrow any phone, dial the toll-free line, verify with the keypad or your voice, choose a contact, and the call connects. If nobody answers, you stay on the line: the system can redial immediately, retry, or cascade down your contact list to find the next available person. ### Signing up - Web: https://888lost101.com/register - iOS app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lost101/id6766766331 - SMS: text the word `LOST` to 1-888-567-8101 from a U.S. mobile number. - Android: not yet released ("coming soon" as of this writing). Texting LOST constitutes consent to receive automated SMS and calls from LOST101 for account verification and service notifications. Messages come from 1-888-567-8101. Reply STOP to cancel. Message and data rates may apply. --- ## 3. Pricing - **$36 USD for a 12-month pass.** A one-time purchase, not a subscription — there are no recurring charges and no auto-renewal. - **The first call is free**, up to 5 minutes, and no credit card is required to start. The free call expires 7 days after account creation, and is only consumed if the call actually connects. - Included with the pass: - Up to 20 trusted contacts - Works from borrowed phones, flip phones, and landlines - Private calling — your number is never shared - Voice-verified, never recorded - Encrypted contact storage - **Gifting:** a 365-day pass can be purchased for someone else at https://888lost101.com/gift — commonly bought for college students, older relatives, and anyone heading somewhere unfamiliar. - Purchases made in the iOS app are handled by Apple; purchases made on the web are handled by Stripe. ### Usage limits - Individual calls are capped at **20 minutes**. - Each account includes **500 connected minutes per year**. The marketing site describes this as comfortably covering roughly 20 successful calls a year. - Excessive, unusual, or suspicious activity may result in temporary or permanent suspension. Usage patterns are monitored to prevent fraud and keep access fair; enforcement is at LOST101's discretion. --- ## 4. Privacy and trust model Three pillars, as described on the site: - **Encrypted storage.** Phone numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and stored alongside irreversible hashes used for lookup. - **Number masking.** Callers and recipients never see each other's numbers. Both sides see "LOST101" on caller ID. - **Consent-first.** Contacts must explicitly agree before they can be reached, and can opt out at any time by replying STOP. LOST101 states that it does not sell user information and never sends promotional material. It does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party cookies. --- ## 5. Frequently asked questions **How does it work?** Register online, pick a security question, and verify with a quick test call. Add your trusted contacts, then whenever you need to reach someone, dial 1-888-LOST-101 from any phone. Verify your identity, choose a contact, and we connect the call. **Can I call anyone I want?** No. Each contact has to confirm their own number before you can call them — they get a quick text invite and tap to accept. Contacts must be 18 or older. **Can my contacts opt out?** Yes. Whenever a call is connected, the contact can choose to opt out. They can also remove their number at any time from the website or by replying STOP to any LOST101 text. **Is my data safe?** Phone numbers are encrypted at rest. Access requires multiple matching factors, attempts are rate-limited, and abuse is monitored. Call history on both sides shows "LOST101" — callers and recipients never see each other's numbers. **What if no one answers?** You stay on the line. The system can instantly redial, retry, or cascade down your contact list to find the next available person. **Can people call me back?** No. LOST101 only connects outbound calls, for safety and abuse prevention. **Is there a limit on how often I can call?** Each call can last up to 20 minutes. The service includes enough usage for roughly 20 successful calls per year. **Does it work internationally?** No. LOST101 works only on US phone networks. --- ## 6. Safety Source: https://888lost101.com/safety **Not an emergency service.** LOST101 is a personal phone relay for non-emergency use. It does not replace 911 or any emergency service. If you are in danger, call 911 directly. **No call-back.** LOST101 only connects outbound calls. Contacts cannot call you back through LOST101. This is by design — it prevents misuse and protects both parties. **Never send money over the phone.** LOST101 will never ask for payment, passwords, or gift cards over the phone. If someone on a LOST101 call asks for any of these, hang up immediately. **How opt-out works.** If you were added as someone's contact and want to remove yourself, you can do so at any time by: - Replying STOP to any LOST101 text message - Replying DELETE when asked to verify your number - Visiting https://888lost101.com/opt-out Your phone number is immediately removed from all contact lists. **Report abuse.** Unwanted calls, harassment, or any misuse should be reported to support@mail.888lost101.com. All reports are investigated and accounts can be suspended. **Caller ID.** All calls routed through LOST101 display "LOST101" as the caller ID on both sides. Personal phone numbers are never shown to either party. --- ## 7. Our total liability for any claim related to LOST101 is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve (12) months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the maximum extent allowed by law. --- ## 8. Privacy Policy — last updated April 18, 2026 Source: https://888lost101.com/privacy **Overview.** LOST101 operates a phone relay service that lets subscribers reach their trusted contacts by calling 1-888-LOST-101. Because contacts trust LOST101 with their phone numbers, contact privacy is treated as seriously as subscriber privacy. **Information collected.** - *Account information:* name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and a security question and answer. During setup you complete a voice-assisted verification call; speech-to-text produces a **text transcription** of your spoken name and security answer. **No audio is recorded or stored.** The transcription is used to pattern-match future calls, accounting for differences between typed and spoken answers. - *Contact information:* subscribers add contact names and relationship labels. Contact phone numbers come from the contacts themselves through the consent process. All phone numbers are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored as irreversible hashes for lookup. A pending invitee's number is stored temporarily and deleted automatically if they do not approve. - *Call records:* timestamps, durations, and connection status, for usage tracking and billing. **Call content is never recorded.** - *Technical data:* IP address and user agent recorded at account creation, consent, and opt-out, for audit trails, legal compliance, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution. Not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. **Authentication and security.** Login uses passkeys (WebAuthn) backed by the device's biometric sensor or screen lock; only the public key is stored on LOST101's servers and biometric data never leaves the device. Magic-link email login is also offered — links are single-use and expire after 10 minutes. No tracking, analytics, or third-party cookies are used. Passkeys are manageable from the Passkeys page in the account area. All browser-to-server communication uses HTTPS. **How information is used.** To authenticate callers to 1-888-LOST-101; to connect subscribers with trusted contacts; to send SMS about consent, verification, and account security; to send SMS usage alerts near or over thresholds; to send renewal reminder emails; to process payments via Stripe; and to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse. **Contact consent and opt-out.** Contacts are reachable only after explicit consent and phone-number verification. They may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any LOST101 SMS, replying DELETE when asked to verify, or using the Remove My Number page. Opting out removes the number from all active contact lists immediately. A consent/opt-out record is retained for legal defense. **Information about contacts.** For a person added as someone's contact, LOST101 stores: first and last name as provided, phone number (encrypted plus irreversible hash), IP address and browser information from the consent device, the verification method used (web click-through, SMS reply, or phone-call code), a Twilio message or call identifier, and timestamps for each consent step. These records are retained even if the subscriber later deletes their account, because they are needed to prove valid consent under the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and comparable state laws. Opting out removes the number from active lists but does not erase the historical consent record. **Records and audit trails.** Retained records include: account registration date, IP, and accepted Terms version; consent records (as itemized above, plus a snapshot of the consent text and the adding subscriber's name); opt-out records (when and how); billing events linked to the Stripe customer record; call activity (timestamps, durations, connection status); and account changes (deletions, suspensions, security actions). These are used only to operate the service, answer support or legal requests, and prevent fraud — not shared with third parties except as required by law. **Data retention.** - Pending consent invitations expire after 7 days if unanswered; the subscriber can resend. - Account data is retained while the account exists, regardless of subscription status. - Call logs are retained for billing and usage tracking. - Opted-out numbers are kept as hashes only, in a global opt-out list, to prevent re-addition. - Consent records are retained for **seven (7) years** from account deletion or the contact's opt-out, whichever is later — covering the TCPA's four-year statute of limitations and common state-law extensions. LOST101 relies on legitimate interest in defending telemarketing, consumer-protection, and privacy claims (GDPR Art. 17(3)(e); CCPA business-purpose exception). - Other audit-trail records are retained seven (7) years from creation. - *Free-call fraud prevention:* if the free introductory call was used and the account is then deleted, a one-way SHA-256 hash of the registration phone number is retained for **24 months**. The hash cannot be reversed, is used only to determine free-call eligibility on re-registration, is never used for marketing or profiling, and is purged automatically. **Account deletion.** Deleting an account permanently removes most personally identifiable information — email address, phone number, date of birth, passphrase, PIN, voice-verification transcriptions, and security question and answer. Any active Stripe subscription is canceled, and passkeys, logged-in devices, and pending login links are deleted. Contacts are removed from active lists. A limited record is retained for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, and consent-proof obligations: an internal account identifier; Stripe customer and subscription IDs; subscription status and history; call timestamps, durations, and connection status (with caller number and contact reference removed); registration IP and accepted Terms version; creation and deletion dates; consent and audit-trail records; and, where applicable, the 24-month free-call hash. Because consent records necessarily include names and encrypted contact numbers, complete erasure is not possible while those records must be retained — generally seven (7) years — after which they are permanently deleted. **Domestic service only.** U.S. calls only; no international calling at this time. **Third-party services.** Twilio (phone calls, SMS, speech-to-text verification), Stripe (payments and subscription management), and Resend (transactional email such as magic links and account notifications), plus industry-standard hosting and infrastructure providers. Only the minimum necessary information is shared. Data is never sold or shared for advertising or marketing. **Age requirement.** LOST101 is for adults aged 18 and older, and all listed contacts must also be at least 18. **Contact.** Questions about the privacy policy or your data: support@mail.888lost101.com --- ## 9. Removing your number If someone added you as a contact and you want to be removed, go to https://888lost101.com/opt-out, reply STOP to any LOST101 text, or reply DELETE when asked to verify.
